My kids love it...

Not as simple as Photo Booth but does a good job of exposing Quartz Filters to the non-developer. Anytime I need a few extra moments to do something productive, I sit the kid down in front of the iMac and let them fool around with it. Filters range from totally goofy to actually useful (rotation, zooming etc.). Hoping for movie recording in a future version.
